About Me

My name is Kaila Marcus, and I am currently searching for a full-time job or internship opportunity post graduation. My lifelong passion for writing and strong opinion on the oxford comma led me to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and certificate in New Media. I was also driven to intern at two nonprofits, work as an agency copywriter for a popular Atlanta coffeehouse, guest write for the Institute for Public Relations and intern at a wedding photography company. I am well-versed in short-form and long-form writing, and I describe myself as diligent, detail-oriented and a great team player.

PR Campaigns: Worked on a team to improve barriers to entry in the PR field for diverse individuals. We conducted research, contacted one hundred PR firms about creating paid internships, emailed over fifty high schools about a PR club concept we developed, made a LinkedIn group for students and professionals to network (now has 260 members) and created an educational video and various infographics on diversity in PR

New Media Capstone: Served as the content lead and copywriter in a group of five students to revise the Athens Creatives Directory’s WordPress website with the goal of making the site more user-friendly, increasing SEO and expanding its functions by adding a forum, FAQ page, event calendar etc.

ADPR Research: Worked with three other students to conduct a Qualtrics survey on the coffee preferences of over one hundred college students and then analyzed the data and wrote a report summarizing our findings
